W.A.S. Studio — short for What Awaits Starts — began as a spark in a small New York City bedroom and quickly grew into a world of imagination, color, and possibility. Each piece is made to be noticed, to be played with, and to tell a story all its own.

The studio thrives on curiosity, craft, and a little bit of mischief. The Founder

Alexa Dumitru started sewing in her childhood bedroom, driven by curiosity and a love for creating things that didn’t exist yet. What began as playing around with an old sewing machine quickly became a full language of expression — bold, feminine, and a little bit unexpected.

For Alexa, design is about adventure. It’s about building pieces for the woman who wants to stand out, laugh loudly, and dress like she’s writing her own story — one colorful, playful, unapologetic stitch at a time.
